SUNCAP Program

SUNCAP was a special Food Assistance Program for individuals who receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI). DCF states that Florida’s SUNCAP Program ended September 30, 2026, and that during the phase-out period of October 2026 through March 2027 current SUNCAP recipients will receive notification from DCF on how to continue receiving food assistance through DCF if eligible.

Who qualifies
Individuals who receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI), as described in the SUNCAP section of the DCF SNAP page. DCF states the Social Security Administration will no longer determine eligibility for food assistance for households receiving SSI in Florida.
How to apply
DCF states the quickest way to apply for food assistance through DCF is online using the MyACCESS portal. You may also apply by visiting a DCF Family Resource Center or Community Partner, or by submitting a paper application by mail or fax.
