Legends Center — City Warming Center
Verified · October 23, 2026
The Legends Center is the City of Jacksonville’s overnight Warming Center under its Warming Center Contingency Plan. When temperatures reach 27 degrees or lower, the center opens overnight (9 p.m. – 9 a.m.) for residents who lack access to adequate heat, staffed and with water available on site. JTA buses transport vulnerable individuals for no charge from bus stops throughout Duval County to and from the Legends Center. Residents should bring bedding, snacks, medication, and hygiene and comfort items if they can; only service animals are permitted. This is an emergency, weather-activated service, not an everyday program — mark time_sensitive=Yes.
