Non-Emergency Transportation Services (Medicaid ride benefit)

Verified · October 23, 2026

Florida Medicaid pays for medically necessary non-emergency transportation for a Medicaid recipient, and a personal care attendant or escort if required, when the person has no other way to get to a Medicaid-covered service. It is one of the minimum covered services for all Managed Medical Assistance and Long-Term Care plans. Rides are arranged through your Medicaid health plan. Note: Florida has no Medicaid expansion — this benefit is only for people already eligible for Florida Medicaid under Florida’s existing categories.
